Defibtech designed the Lifeline AED to be functional for all levels of responders. Sudden Cardiac Arrests (SCA) can take place anywhere and chances are a medical professional will not be around to defibrillate the victim when an attack happens. Defibtech has incorporated audible prompts and a visual text screen to provide an inexperienced responder with instructions on how to use the Lifeline AED in a safe and effective manner. The responder will be guided through the life-saving process from the moment they press the on-button to the time Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive. Most AEDs come with a carrying case that needs to be opened during the time of emergency. Defibtech has foregone this additional step, making the resuscitation process even simpler- all the responder has to do is press the on-button and the Defibtech Lifeline AED will begin its course of action.

Ventricular fibrillation is the most common form of SCA. Defibtech has used state-of-the-art technology, called biphasic defibrillation, to specifically target ventricular fibrillation. This technology increases the chances that the victim will only need to be shocked one time, ultimately increasing the survival rate of an SCA victim.

Although Defibtech’s Lifeline AED uses the newest and most advanced technology, it’s still affordable. Defibtech used a cost-effective method for designing its visual screen. Instead of using an LCD (liquid-crystal-display) screen, Defibtech has adopted the use of an LED (light-emitting diodes) screen. Not only has this modification reduced the price of the AED, it’s also upgraded the visual appeal of its text screen.

Transportable and Durable

The Defibtech lifeline AED is a combination of portability and durability. It was built to be transportable for civilians, as well as EMS workers, firefighters and police officers. Although it only weighs 4.2 pounds, it was tough enough to withstand the US Military "drop and shock" requirements. It’s dust and water-resistant.

Healthcare professionals can use the recording to determine when shocks were induced and the patient’s heart rhythm.
